André Ng is Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Head of Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester. His research focus is on Sudden Cardiac Death prediction and prevention as well as Atrial Fibrillation mechanisms. He leads a cross-disciplinary team of talented scientists including preclinical and clinical researchers as well biomedical engineers. He is a clinical expert in heart rhythm management, especially cardiac mapping and catheter ablation.

 

Professor Ng is a Fellow of several professional societies (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Royal College of Physicians, European Society of Cardiology and European Heart Rhythm Association), is on the British Heart Foundation Project Grants Committee and is currently Vice President (Research & Education) of the British Cardiovascular Society.

 

Professor Ng is a recognized leader in early technology evaluation and development for cardiac electrophysiology, in particular new mapping tools and ablation catheters. He has proctored at many centres worldwide on novel electrophysiology technologies and is director of international training courses.
