Eric J. Muehlbauer, MJ, CAE has been Executive Director since September 1994. He became a Certified Association Executive in 2002. He has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Knox College where he was the Hunter Trophy winner (highest GPA of athletes) and holds the record for most career punt returns. He also has Masters of Jurisprudence in Health Law & Policy from Loyola University Chicago Law School. He also completed coursework on Non-profit Management at the Harvard University School of Business. NASS has become a well-respected voice in the health policy field and a leader in the areas of Ethics and Hands-on Education through use of its Spine Education and Research Center. He is a member of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics (ASLME).
